Question #2:

Should I Move my fish to another aquarium?

My comet goldfish I got from petsmart doesn't seem happy in his new tank. It's bottomsitting and not eating much. Should I move him to my fish tank which is bigger, brighter, and has fish in it. (The other fishtank has a little bass, 4 baby bluegill, and 2 small catfish. The goldfish is about 5-6" long. Would he be fine down in that fishtank. I'm worried he'll die in the current one.
JSYK: The tank he's currently in is 20 gallons.

Question #3:

I need help choosing some bass lures for strippit fishing?

Hi, I'm new to bass fishing, and am not sure what to get as far as lures go. The strip pit we own is huge. It has been around since the 1930's, so the fish in it are quite big. It is at most 60 feet deep, and the water clarity is stained. There is also lots of weeds and debris in the water. I usually enjoy fishing with a 1/4 oz jig head with a 4 inch grub, but this doesn't always work. So I need some more variety. What should I get? I'm not sure about size, color, type, etc. Ithink bright colors work best in stained/murky water? I like soft plastics best. I'm also stuck on what rod/reel combo I should get. I'm thinking a Zebco 33. Any suggestions? Please help...

Question #7:

What is the best time to catch river fish in late August/early September in southern Michigan near Lake MI?

I've been fishing during the day and having rotten luck. I was told it's because the waters are just too warm. Most of August has been in the 90's. Even when it is hot though, the fish need to eat! So what is the best time to throw my line out there? Do they eat really late at night? The rivers I fish in mostly have Bass, Bluegills and other panfish, catfish, lots of large carp, some trout, and soon we will have lots of Salmon coming through. I live in southwestern Michigan. What months are the best fishing for these rivers that lead into Lake Michigan?
Thanks!

Question #8:

What would be a good rod and reel for me to catch mainly river salmon in the midwest?

I live on Lake Michigan and there a few good rivers that lead into it that I enjoy fishing in. I mainly catch pan fish like Bluegill and the occasional Bass.

I need a better pole (mine is a cheaper) and reel though for the upcoming salmon season! How much I should I expect to pay? I'm 5'8 but I hate LONG poles and would rather use a shorter one. However, I was told that you need to use long poles like 12 footers for catching salmon, this isn't true, is it? I'm looking to pay no more than $75 really.

Also, what is the best bait (eggs right) or lures to catch salmon?

What should I look for when buying a pole such as weight limit and stuff?

And what is the STRONGEST line???

THANKS AND SORRY FOR ALL THE QUESTIONS!!!

What rod should I buy?

I usually fish for bass (smallmouth, never caught a largemouth) and I use crank baits, plastic worms, spinner baits, and occasionally stink baits when I'm fishing for catfish.

Question #14:

How do you kill a fish?

I am asking this because I had caught a bluegill fishing and he swallowed my hook. Well... what I mean is that there was only a small piece of my lure in view in the fish's mouth (and it was a very small hook.) After about 5 minutes I got the hook out but I think I tore one of his organs. After that, I was pretty sure he was suffering so I just wanted to put him out of his misery and just kill him swiftly with my fillet knife. but didn't know how.

And BTW: The poor bluegill is now in heaven after being eaten by some dark figure in the water after he made a break for it. (I believe it was a bass.)
