Question: If the Netherlands and Hong Kong are doing well, is the world really overpopulated?

( Back )

Answer #1:

Yes, the world is overpopulated. We are continuing to grow at a rate that this world can never sustain. If you look at Mexico, they are creating more citizens than they could ever feed or employ. We need to limit the growth or we are all doomed.

Answer #2:

yeah world is quite overpopulated! chinese, l go and count em .. if one day they all decide to take over the world then there will be not enough ammunition to take em all down they will stab all to death. but there is a solution! we just need another great technology to colonize other planets and send like 1/2 of the people on earth to outer space! ^^

Answer #3:

Before we were cannibals. Today, we aren't.
Before, we thought the sun went around the Earth. today, we know that we can't live without the sun.
Before, we sent sick people to shamans. Today, shamanism is pretty much illegal.

We didn't care about the environment before. Why? Cause we never really saw what was happening. It's true, examples like the Minamata disease were effects of toxic waste, but hey, dumping was the norm.
Guess what? We've changed. Humanity is supposed to get more advanced as time passes. We can now be grateful for a cleaner world, since we now have the clean technology to do the same job, while saving the atmosphere, oceans, and health of our people.

Besides, would you like to wake up every morning to smoggy skies? Swim in pools, since rivers and lakes were toxic? Enjoy beef, since all the seafood was dead? Frequently go to the hospital, because of tainted food and medicine? We are living in modern times. We deserve modern technology.

Answer #4:

The Netherlands and Hong Kong do not exist in a vacuum. They draw on other places for food and other resources. These resources are not infinite. They are going to become scarcer and more expensive as we approach our carrying capacity, which we are rushing toward exponentially.
