Question: what is the best temperature for bass fishing in ohio?

i dont fish bass but in may or june any river or lake should be good. im further north than you(northwest Vermont)but i assume the seasons are similar.

70-80 degrees is when they will be most active although when the water starts getting up toawrds that 60 degree mark they will start moving and feeding a bit more. But I say when that ice melts get out there and fish. You still have the oppurtunity to do well in cold water, you just need the right setups along with some patience. Go get you a few 3/4 ounce jigs with a craw trailer and try pulling some out.

55 degrees they start to really get turned on. You can catch them on the ice but they get really slow below 50. Hope that helps you I am one of those with cabin fever, you should take up steelheading up here they get turned on at about 36 degrees.

I love to fish in the spring right when the snow clears up. I'm not in Ohio but country wide, Spring is a great time to go fishing. The biggest fish I've caught were in the spring and summer.
