Question: Daiwa, Shimano, Pflueger, Abu Garcia, or Quantum?

Answer #1:

Im a cheapskate therefore I go with southbend and I have reels/rods that are over 7 years old

Answer #2:

An Ugly-stick and any top line spinner reel, or any that are median weight, six ft., and take a spinning reel that holds a 100 plus yards of line. I go for Northern Pike, and any thing else that will bite.

Answer #3:

I'm sure you've seen many of my answers which gave you a good idea what my favorite is. Abu Garcia of course. I don't necessarily think the over-all quality is better than any of the others you mentioned but for the price they're hard to beat in my opinion.

Something else I may add is that the Browning reels are pretty nice also. A friend of mine picked one up late last year from Bass Pro and I can't say a bad thing about it. Browning is a brand that I never considered but they are of good quality.

Answer #4:

I always find some excuse to buy a Shimano reel. But I think the new Revo's are good reels too. And I actually might like to buy a Pfluger one day and try it. I picked up one in a tackle shop last year and spun the handle, left the store and came back in a week later and it was still spinning. Slight exaggeration of course but it was the longest spinning friction free reel I have ever seen. Pretty impressive.

Answer #5:

I prefer Shimano and my whole family does also. I myself have a Citica, Sahara, and a Calais. They are really good. I am hoping to buy a Pflueger President though they seem good and it's also cheap.

Answer #6:

my favorite is the shimano bait cast and spinning

Answer #7:

I've owned all the brands you listed. In my experience Shimano out last all others hands down. I'm a fan of the Curado.

Answer #8:

If I only get to choose one, then, Daiwa. Otherwise, all of these are great reels. I just happen to be a Daiwa fan. However, I have cheap Quantum reels that outperform any of the Japs hands down, too. So, after all, I think it's a pretty hard choice... good luck.

Answer #9:

l'm not sure which one of these three is my favorite. my diawa TDX, my curado 100 or my ardent XS.
all three have their own idiosyncrasies and have about equal time devoted to them (along with the others in my arsenal).
l tend to lean toward the diawa, but then l think about how far the ardent casts, then the overall sweet qualities of the CU100.

wait until l try out my diawa pixy.

:)

Answer #10:

US Reel, then Mitchell, just got a light/ultra light Shimano, no chance to try yet.

Answer #11:

All of the brands you have listed make some good reels for different applications. I personally believe Shimano is the best for bass fishing. You cant go wrong with a citica, and remember you always get what you pay for. I bought a citica 8 years ago and I have never had one problem with it.
