fishing: is choice of reel, pole, and line important? (bass,cat,brim)?
Here in north mississippi,,the fishing is all about bass, catfish, crappie, and brim... sometimes i wonder if the type of reel, pole lenth, and line test/type, and lure size/type really matters. I think i buy good stuff, but sometimes i wonder if my system is crap due to mismatched componets.for instance,, a 6 ft pole pistol grip handle (medium action), with 17 pound test line,, using baitcast reel is one i just put togeter.
Is there a guide to putting systems together? depending on what type of fish your after?
I usually fish for bass with lures.

First time steelhead fishing?
I started fishing 2 years ago regularly, primarily for bass. I went steelhead fishing for the first time this past weekend and landed 3 out of 6 fish I had hooked. The guide I was with told me it was pretty good considering that the average fisherman usually only lands 3 out of every 10 hooked steelheads. I wasn't sure if he was just saying that to be kind. OK boys! Why can't I catch Catfish?
I am a very petite Asian-American girl. I am feminine and like to do all the things girls normally do. I'm not a tomboy. I wear makeup, feminine clothes, and can dance all night in a sexy short skirt and high heels. However...I LOVE to go fishing.
My ex-boyfriend took me a lot but we broke up. Now I sneak away sometimes and go by myself because I don't have anyone to go with.
I have real good luck catching large mouth bass and crappie in north Texas lakes. I fish along shore and don't have a boat.
I go to Lewisville Lake, Ray Roberts Lake, Lake Lavon, Ray Roberts Lake, Grapevine Lake, and sometimes I go to the Richland Chambers Reservoir.
While I can catch Bass and crappie easily, I cannot get any Catfish. I know these lakes have catfish. I see dead catfish along the shoreline sometimes and men talk about catching them a lot. There are Blue Catfish, Channel Catfish, and some others. The Fishing Guides on the Internet that use these lakes mention trophy catfish a lot, although I don't want anything that big.
I've tried everything. I researched how to catch them on the Internet and have done a lot of study. I've used tight-line fishing, slack-line fishing, and have fished with bobbers. I've used different baits too, including live shad, cut shad, minnows, commercial stink bait, chicken livers, and night crawlers (worms). I have tried several methods for hooking and presenting the bait.
I've looked for (and found) all the lake conditions that are recommended for catching catfish. I have gone at night, beginning around 7 PM and fished until 1 AM. I have fished during all daylight hours. I have even set my alarm very early, woke up, and started fishing at 4:00 AM and continued all day.
I've pushed every button and pulled every switch and still can't get a catfish.
Someone PLEASE help me!. Tell me what I'm doing wrong.
I don't want to hire a professional guide. I have a regular office job and not much money. Also, I want to do this myself.

|Angelina Jolie is one of the ugliest celebrities or women I have ever seen! I thought that as soon as I saw her face online a few years ago and I didn't even know who she was.
I can't understand how anyone can find her remotely attractive at all!
She has abnormally huge lips that are shaped like a Bass or trout fish (many men have said ugly Carp lips) especially her lower lip! Every time I see her face online I have to click it off I can't even stand to look at her!
I'm not alone either I have found many other people including many heterosexual men saying exactly the same thing!

On another message board many people were s aying these things about her too and a woman said that her husband said she looks like she should be thrown back into the ocean. Many men said the last time they saw lips like hers they were on the end of a fishook!

And also the only other people I have ever seen with big ugly fish shaped lips like hers are an actor on the soap thats going off the air, Guiding Light and he plays a religious Father, and the actress who is in her 70's Carolyn Conwell who played Paul's mother on The Young and The Restless from 1980-2004 and they are ugly too and I could never stand to look at them either!

And by the way I was considered by most people to be a strikingly beautiful baby, child and teenager. Many strangers would come up to me and my parents in public places and say what a gorgeous , beautiful baby and child. I never had big lips, I had /have normal size lips and a pretty delicate shaped mouth, and even as a baby and child I had high cheek bones, a small pretty shaped nose, an oval shaped face, very big dark brown beautiful deepset doe eyes , light skin, strawberries and cream complexion, no freckles and red blonde hair that was much redder than strawberry blonde.
My mother was an artist and she went to art school and she even sold some of her sculptures in a few local galleries. She drew me in pastels when I was 5, she sculpted my face when I was 7 and she drew me in charcoal pencil which I sat for when I was 18.

Need some advice on saving a classic Diawa?
I have a vintage daiwa 5.5 foot light action rod (pistle grip), I put braided line in it and it ruind the guides (Parts to fix that are on their way) that’s not the question. It’s a vintage rod, I use it for fishing bass in light to moderate cover, I use it a lot (4 to 5 times a week about 25 hours a week of actual fishing). I’ve noticed that the tip is starting to bend permanently? Does it have one foot in the grave? Is there any hope in restoring its shape? It was my grandfathers and I don’t want to break it. My grandfather never actually used it I found it in storage in the original package. Retiring it to bobber fishing is not realistic do to the fact I can’t stand bobber fishing, due to the fact I don’t drink.Question #13:

I am going to norther wisconsin with my mom to Poupart Lake. My mom's friend's family has cabins on the lake. It is in the Lac De Flambeau area in Vilas county. I love fishing and plan to do a lot of it, but my mom sais I can only bring three poles. I am going to be only bass fishing (large mouth and smallmouths).Of these 4 set ups which three should I bring?

The lake has a lot of those underwater standing weeds and there are lilly pads all around the lake. There is also quite a few trees in the water. I fish a lot of soft plastics, topwaters and plan on some crankbaiting.

I'll be going to penticton bc and would like to do some fishing. I am not a fly fisherman, but I would like to try someday. I'm more of a bass fisherman, but always love to try different stuff. Does anybody know where to go, what lures to use? I'm not even familiar with all of the different species of fish in that area. What should we expect to catch? I wouldn't mind finding a guide maybe on one of the days, but I'd like to keep the cost down as much as possible. All advice about penticton will be appreciated.
