Question #1:

How do you kill a fish?

I am asking this because I had caught a bluegill fishing and he swallowed my hook. Well... what I mean is that there was only a small piece of my lure in view in the fish's mouth (and it was a very small hook.) After about 5 minutes I got the hook out but I think I tore one of his organs. After that, I was pretty sure he was suffering so I just wanted to put him out of his misery and just kill him swiftly with my fillet knife. but didn't know how.

And BTW: The poor bluegill is now in heaven after being eaten by some dark figure in the water after he made a break for it. (I believe it was a bass.)

Question #4:

What would be a good rod to go with a shimano curado baitcasting reel?

I really want a Shimano Curado 7:0:1 gear ratio reel. What do you think would be a good rod to go with that? I'm mostly fishing for bass, mostly small mouth. I like to fish tubes, worms and sometimes spinners and crank baits. I specific name of a rod would be great. Thanks!

Question #5:

I need small-mouth help?

I've been wading this creek for years, and now I'm starting to see HUGE bass swimming around, but I can't catch them. I have tried everything in all my boxes and they just stare at my presentation like it's retarded. Does anyone have any advice?
Also, I think you would need to know that I am fishing with soft plastics, salamanders, worms, creatures and ect. Not even the powerful scent stuff is working.

Question #6:

how do you tell the difference between a large mouth bass and a small mouth bass?

Question #7:

What lures should I use when fishing?

Right now, I am preparing for a fishing trip, and I'm planning on using a STORM Live Swim Shad, and a STORM Rattling and Jig'n Craw. Also, if I learn how to Rig, I'll bring GULP! lures. The water we plan on fishing in is freshwater, and I think there are Catfish, Large and Small-mouth Bass, and Sunfish. I'm thinking of the YUM lures, but I need your opinion on that. Thanks!
You may suggest Rapala's but the problem is that I don't use them. I've fished with them a lot but I don't usually get a bite with them. (PLEASE, NO RAPALA'S

Question #8:

Whats causing my dad's fish to die?

My dad was out on a business trip just for two days and two of them already died. I have absolutely no knowledge on how to take care of these fish because they aren't mine, so I was wondering if anybody can help me figure out why they're dead. I've been feeding them properly, and I've always done so whenever my dad is away on a trip. Nothing has ever happened until this time. The first fish looked like it was suffering because it was upside down all the way on the bottom of the tank. It wasn't dead, but I still saw it breathing. I couldn't contact my dad because he was too busy, and reading online said that it was dying, or I could treat it with some peas. I did the pea trick but this guy wasn't able to eat or anything so it ended up dying. And note that every other fish in this tank is alive and swimming perfectly fine. Now the next morning I wake up and check up on the fish, and I see that another fish is dead. Yet he is COMPLETELY pale. His eyes are completely white as well. I've taken two Ph measurements and the water was completely fine according to several resources online. Does anybody have an idea on what can be causing this? I know that these fish are Small Mouth Bass.
By the way, I've observed fish #2 a little more clearly and noticed that his gills are wide open as well. Could it be lack of oxygen? The other fishes in there seem to be fine. If so, how may I test the oxygen level? (I have no knowledge on fish).

Question #9:

Is it okay to wear deodorant/cologne while fishing?

i went to a lake that stocked with large mouth and small mouth bass, and some trout, i was wearing cologne that day and my dad said that i shouldn't because the smell can get on the bait, and the fish won't take the bait, and i believed him because we were both using the same bait and he got all the fish and i didn't get one fish even though i was there for hours, so i want to know if it's true that fish are unattracted to cologne

Question #10:

Need a good Rod & Reel combo?

Question #11:

Will a Rapala Original Floater (F-13) work as a decent Northern Pike lure?

Im going fishing around Perry Sound, Canada and i was just wondering if my Original Floater will connect with some Pike. Its gold in colour (to imitate a Small Mouth Bass) and apparently there are a lot of smally's in the lake.

Question #12:

How do I catch jumping walleye in 4-12 feet of water?

Theres a lake i fish in northern michigan that is mostly dominated by walleye, and smallmouth bass, The lake is relatively deep, close to 80 ft at the deepest, and i never have any luck during the day for walleye or small mouth. I've noticed that right around 9 ocklock p.m., the fish begin to move into shallower water, ranging from 4 ft to 12 ft, and they are jumping, just tons of fish jumping left and right, but im finding it increasingly difficult to hook into any of the fish. What can I do or use to entice fish to bite?

Question #18:

Why can't I catch any fish?

I went fishing at Rice Lake today in Ontario, for four hours and I did not catch any fish.
I used small fish as bait and used a bauble to hook length of the following lengths: 3 ft and 5 ft (alternated between them).
I drove the boat where most of the large-mouth bass fishers were (around the area, not next to them).

I am using a fishing rod with a 10-15 pound line. Why didn't I catch any fish? I was planning on having a BBQ. Also, I hooked the bait fish on their mouth so their movement would attract other fish.

I did not even get any bites!

Question #20:

Need help with identification of some of the fish I have caught?

I have several pictures that I have taken from my phone of the fish I have caught. Some of these I think I know what they are, but I am not quite sure. If you could let me know the exact kind of fish, like not just a crappie, but is it a black crappie or whatever. I have really got into fishing this summer and want to learn.

1) She actually caught this, but didn't want to touch it all so I held it while she was in the background haha. This is a crappie correct? What kind of crappie? Click Here

2) I thought this one was a bluegill at first, but it looks kinda different to me. The tail looks too long to be bluegill, but I'm not sure. Click Here

3) This is probably the smallest fish I have ever caught. Is this a crappie? Click Here

4) I'm guessing crappie here again but not sure. Can't really notice it in this pic, but its mouth opened pretty wide so not sure if it is a smaller largemouth bass? Click Here

Thanks!
